Not even a bridesmaid yet…

A few weeks ago we got home from church and R was pretty grumpy and crying over lots of stuff. So mom and dad were cuddling on the couch and R kept trying to get in between us. Mom said, “R, we’re cuddling right now, it’s our turn – you can sit next to us.”

She ran to the other couch and cried and cried and cried. Dad asked her, “Who are you jealous of, Mommy or Daddy?” R answered, in between cries, “I don’t have a husband! Wahhhaaaah!!!!!”

She continued crying until she caught the humor of it and stopped as suddenly as she started!

del.icio.us bookmark posts: not so tasty any more…

For those of you who periodically wonder why blog posts appear with an apparently random list of links and descriptions, this was certainly intentional. I use a site called del.icio.us to bookmark web sites I come across. This kind of site is referred to as “social bookmarking” (or social tagging) because my bookmarks are shared publicly, not stored in my browser.

As a side benefit, I’m able to access them from any Internet-connected computer. Therefore, whether I’m at home, work, or at a friend’s, I can always access my bookmarks.

What is more, rather than storing a bookmark in a single folder, I can add as many labels (tags) to it as I like. Finding the bookmark again is simply a matter of remembering one of the labels. No more ferreting through folders trying to remember which one I saved it in!

In any event, a third aspect is that I’m able to publish my bookmarks to other my accounts social like Facebook or this blog. However, I have recently reconsidered this approach, seeing that my link blogs frequently clutter up our site. Therefore, I have deactivated that feature and will work to clean up previous posts that included these links. Of course, if you want to keep up on my web surfing habits, you’re welcome to click the del.icio.us link on the right.

Let me know what you think about this decision in the comments.
