Dave and Shelby Cho are old friends of ours from back in the McLean Bible Church days. Rebecca and Dave worked together in the student ministries. In March, Dave was diagnosed with a condition that was passed to him at birth from his mother. It is common in folks of Asian Pacific descent. Unfortunately, the condition has led to a very aggressive form of liver cancer. He was on a transplant list while the doctors treated him with chemo. That didn’t work and the cancer has spread to an inoperable point. He is now at home with hospice care and is expected to live another couple of weeks.

As if this weren’t sad enough, Shelby is expecting their fifth child in June. I know, “wow.” Please pray for their entire family to continue to have the hope and peace that they currently have. They are working through how to tell the children as well as planning what the future may look like. Those of us who have been praying are still hoping for a miraculous healing in Dave, but we also realize that God in His infinite wisdom and mystery may have other plans for their family.
